Braving the Cold

Saturday, January 6th, 2018

Next week I shave my winter beard and brave the cold for my first video of 2018.  Production starts Monday morning and I am not excited about freezing my tail off.  I have a small propane heater, but it’s less than adequate.  If anyone knows of a good kerosene forced air heater let me know in the comments; I’m in the market for one.

See you soon!

Almost Over

Sunday, December 10th, 2017

The end of 2017 is closing in fast and I’ve been reflecting on the projects I’ve made this year and thinking of projects to make to kick off 2018.  My wife gave me a few ideas for projects that she’d like for the house.  Aside, from projects, I think that I’m also going to produce a few technique-style videos for early next year as well.

If there are project or technique-style videos that you’d like to see from Garage Woodworks in 2018, let me know in the comments below or send me a note.  Also, please let me know which projects from this year that you really liked or inspired you.

As an aside, If you haven’t seen it, I recently completed a bed video series.  It was a successful project which my son Nathan is getting use out of now.

FOX8 Interview

Tuesday, October 4th, 2016

I was recently interviewed by Brad Jones of FOX8 here in High Point, NC for their ‘Made in NC’ feature.  This was the first time I’ve been interviewed on television and I didn’t know exactly what to expect.  The interview went really well, mostly because Brad was so easy to talk to.  The interview aired this morning on FOX8 and will also air again this evening if you missed it.

Aside from the actual interview, it was cool to watch and learn how a professional videographer works in the confines of a small garage woodshop.

If you are not from the High Point area, or missed it on TV, you can watch the interview below:
