Cherry Toy Chests

• CAD design of the toy chest. The legs, rails and lid will be made from cherry. The panels will be made from solid maple.

• CAD design. Sides and back were removed for clarity.

• 10/19/08. Milled the legs to rough length and width from 8/4 cherry.

• 10/25/08. Milled the curve in the legs on all eight legs.

• 10/26/08. Finished the rails and mortised for the loose tenons. The blue tape denotes which face I want on the outside. If I didn't have the tape I would risk having the ugly side out due to the hectic nature of glue up.

• 11/09/08. I finished the assembly of the toy boxes minus the lids. The panels were pre-finished with sprayed (hvlp) polyurethane. I still need to scrape/sand a little glue squeeze out.

• 11/24/08. Finished with three coats of polyurethane (hvlp).
